We are looking for an experienced upholsterer, someone with the knowledge and craftsmanship to work with traditional and modern styles, who can also bring their own individual style and flair.

  • Proven experience, over a number of years, of traditional and modern upholstery techniques
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Cutting and sewing machine skills essential
  • Full time position (40 hours per week)
  • Salary dependent on experience.

Our workshop is located in Chessington, close to the M25 and is a few minute’s walk from Chessington South Railway station.

The successful candidate would need to be within an easy commute of our workshop.

Part-time Associate Lecturer- Vacancy Upholstery

A rare opportunity for an experienced upholsterer with excellent knowledge of, and experience using traditional and modern skills, teaching on the highly regarded AMUSF Modern and Traditional Upholstery Short Course at The Cass. The successful candidate will have a firm commitment to exceptional quality in both the trade and teaching.

The candidate will deliver the AMUSF Qualification Programme course, one to two days a week (days TBC) over the academic year. Our approach is learning through practice, engaging in discussion with lectures and exploring the use of materials and processes. The position is highly rewarding, giving students a start in their Upholstery education, tutoring them in a hands on and practical manner but also working with them for their written work and preparing them for their final assessments.

Experience of working on the shop floor.
