 JOB DESCRIPTION

This one year part time role is funded by the WCVA Landfill Tax Community Fund to support the development of reuse projects at Pembrokeshire FRAME, to develop and deliver a new furniture re-upholstery social enterprise called FRAME Furniture Surgery and to provide support and guidance to participants, volunteers and members of the local community through a series of workshops and supported learning sessions. Pembrokeshire FRAME are looking to recruit a Re-upholstery Support Worker with proven experience over a number of years in traditional upholstery to deliver part of their exciting new 12-month Green Shed Re-users Project.

The FRAME Furniture Surgery will run a workshop offering support and work experience to people with disabilities and mental health issues including those with complex personal histories and people with a range of support needs. The Re-upholstery Support Worker will be responsible for all aspects of the workshop including developing and implementing a programme of work that is appropriate to the needs of participants and that helps to improve their confidence, skills and wellbeing. Upholstery workshops will also be delivered to members of the local community and school groups.

The FRAME Furniture Surgery will be run as a social enterprise and the Re-upholstery Support Worker will be responsible for promoting and developing an in-house furniture upholstery service for items purchased in our shops or for customers own items.

Experienced machinist required – Stansted, Essex

Experienced machinist (ideally commercial) required for bespoke workshop in small private company based in Stansted, Essex.

A manufacturer of cushions for over 30 years for high quality exclusive brands of outdoor furniture has an immediate vacancy for a highly skilled machinist.

Prime responsibilities:-

Machining a wide variety of high quality fabrics (e.g. Sunbrella) including customers’ own material for bespoke cushions – scatters / seat pads / back cushions etc.

Ensuring all patterns are matched with boxing / trims and finishing touches completed to the highest standard.

Overlocking and occasional quilting.

Working alongside the other cutting room staff discussing new patterns / fabric layout etc.

To occasionally plastic wrap cushions ready for delivery.

This is a permanent position but offering flexible hours Monday to Friday.   Generous holiday (subject to working hours) and a parking permit.   Salary dependent on experience.

A vacancy for a Traditional Upholstery Tutor in the Manchester area.  Candidate must have a minimum of proven 5 years experience in traditional Upholstery.

The Ministry of Upholstery is one of UK’s leading modern upholstery training centres.  They offer many different courses in modern upholstery and currently have a successful team.
