British trained Upholsterer for an initial 1 year contract (potentially longer) in the Philippines.

Do you have the confidence to lead a young team as a Trainer and a Production Manager? We are a British owned small bespoke Upholstery and soft furnishings social enterprise doing high end hand made upholstery. We also run a non-profit charity training centre. Our team is small and are still learning but already producing high quality work. We are recruiting a professional upholsterer with 3+ years commercial experience to lead the production floor and give guidance / train as necessary.

We are looking for someone who meets the following requirements:

Demonstrable knowledge of modern upholstery techniques,Traditional upholstery experience, Ability to lead the team to get projects finished on time and at the highest standards, A keen eye for detail A good understanding of pattern matching, cutting, templating, sewing Workshop maintenance Teaching students upholstery techniques Taking students through a project from beginning to end Running a classroom session (all materials will be provided)Running a classroom / theory session (full training will be provided)Good communication and people skills,Team player,Patient – the standard of English in our work room is variable, as is the experience level of our women. Working hours will vary and will include some weekend work (in which case weekdays will be off) Essentially, ready for a new and exciting opportunity!

Due to increasing demand, an outstanding opportunity has become available for a confident, well-organised and professional individual to join the UK’s market leaders for re-upholstery and loose furniture covers.

Backed by a team of support staff at our Head Office in Preston, you will be responsible for our Southern manufacturing region. The current structure consists of circa 60 independent enterprises that manufacture goods on our behalf. You will be required to build a strong working relationship with all parties and monitor, motivate, and develop their activities accordingly so to ensure production targets are achieved and high levels of customer satisfaction are delivered.

In order to meet increasing consumer demand, you will be instrumental in enhancing our production network. You will be comfortable and confident visiting and presenting to prospective manufacturers, explaining our procedures, detailing what we require from them and assessing whether each prospect can offer an excellent service and a quality product.

To meet the area’s requirements, business leads will be supplied, however, you will use your own initiative to also self-generate leads in order to meet demand, therefore,

self-motivation is essential in this role.

You will possess the ability to build a successful working relationship with the Sales Team and Regional Sales Managers, being a fountain of production knowledge, a pro-active problem solver and an ambassador for effective communication between the two departments. The need to present effectively at annual regional meetings to both Sales and Production personnel will be a requirement.

Reporting directly to the National Manager, you will be accountable for maintaining and developing the manufacturing base, quality of service and product as well as the overall regional performance. Some customer visits may also be required, so a positive customer facing character will be required.

Experience within the soft furnishing industry would be a distinct advantage but not essential. More importantly, is the ability to inspire and influence those around you.

You should possess good IT skills and be a confident presenter, coming from a background of field visits/sales and B2B interface. You must also possess a full, clean driving licence.

A small Barnet based soft furnishing company is seeking to recruit an individual who can demonstrate all round fitting ability with particular emphasis on dressing quality and traditional window treatments.  Some experience of installing electrically operated blinds and curtain tracks would be an advantage.  A  full driving licence is essential. Minimum of 24 hours per week.
