Shoreditch Design Rooms – Made in London and London Craft Week

From 10th April until 7th May, Shoreditch Design Rooms will be displaying and demonstrating in the iconic Heals Department Store on Tottetnham Court Road as part of the “Made in London” Modern Craft Market that Heals is staging. Alongside a handful of other makers and designers, Shoreditch Design Rooms will be displaying a range of bespoke products: some restored and upholstered antique cinema seats (reclaimed from a 1930’s German cinema) as well as a range of specially designed foot and bar stools. Alongside our display area in the main window of Heals, SDR will also have a live workshop space in store running demonstrations and displays of traditional and modern upholstery.

On Sat 22nd and Sat 29th April we will also be running some 3 hour footstool workshops where people can learn how to upholster a stool and then take it away with them!

Everyone at SDR is hugely excited about this wonderful opportunity and we’d love to see as many of the AMUSF community pop by for a visit whenever they can over the month that we’re in store!!

For London Craft Week (3rd – 7th May) we will be opening our studio up to the public to come and see us work on and upholster an iconic piece of designer furniture throughout the week – we’re hoping this will be a Papa Bear chair by Hans Wegner which will be stripped right back and built up with various updates and pics throughout the week.

Then on Sunday 7th May we will be holding a  3 hour upholstery taster workshop where people can come in and upholster themselves a brand new footstool for them to take away.
